World GDP Visualizer

Description:

Gross domestic product serves as a barometer for a country's economic health. It measures the total market value of final goods and services produced in a country during a given year.

World GDP visualizer is a tool used to help users visualize the GDP of all the countries in the world. It can intuitively display the changes in GDP and growth trend of each country in the past decade, and help users quickly get the information of the economic trend of that country. Users can also see the proportion of some countries in the world's total GDP.

The tool is developed by using Javascript, World developed Indicators API from world bank, D3.js and D3 Geo.

The Interactive Map:

The interactive map displays all countries in the world. Click on a country will show the GDP trend information of this country in last decade. Zoom in the map shows details of a country.

Lollipop Chart:

It shows the relationship between a numeric(GDP) and a categoric(country) variable. It is especially useful when we have several bars of the same height: it avoids to have a cluttered figure and a Moiré effect.

Pie Chart:

Pie Chart shows the proportion of top 5 countries in the world in 2021. Visually display the proportion in the world's GDP.

Bar Chart:

This shows the value of GDP in each year for last decade. User can know the economic development of one country.

Line Chart:

This shows the value of GDP Growth in each year for last decade. User can know the economic development of one country compared to itself.
